Hi I"m trying to install PHPforms for the first time, and I keep getting Corrupted encoded data detected in /urbanphotography.co.uk/phpforms/install.php on line 0 .  I have checked the permissions, I have made sure the install.php file was FTP'd in Binary mode, tried downloading a completely new ZIP file and reinstalling, and I keep getting the same error.

I know that someone else had a similar problem earlier in the year but he then posted a reply saying he had sorted it, so I'm not sure what the solution is.

Really appreciate anyone's thoughts...

I've solved this problem, here's how just in case anyone has the same problem.  The key thing is that files need to be FTP'd in Binary mode, not as ASCII files.  I solved the problem by deleting everything from the remote server, then FTPing again using Fetch, and locking Fetch onto the Binary setting.   I previously used Dreamweaver CS4 to do the transfer, and I think this caused the problem as Dreamweaver sends PHP files over as ASCII.  Hope this helps someone.

Such error appears when files were uploaded to the server not in binary mode.
In order to solve this problem, you need to:
- remove our product from your server;
- enable binary-mode for data transferring in your ftp-client;
- reupload all content from the archive with our product to the server.

There cannot be other reasons does not really sound like a great answer. I am having the exact same problem. Tried several clients in binary mode, and I am getting the same problem. Looks like this problem needs to be addressed more carefully. Is there anyone in this post that has gotten past the problem yet?

Please, describe more details
- what exact error appears and after what page?
- what version of PHPForms you are trying to install?
