AJAX Introduction

If you want to get any information from a database on the server, or send user information to a server-side script like PHP, you have to make an HTML form to GET or POST data to the server. The user would then have to click "Submit", wait for the server to respond, then a new page would load with the results. That all takes some time.
By using the programming practice termed "Ajax" (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) you will be able to trade data without having to load a new page. AJAX is a new technique for creating better, faster, and more interactive web applications. With it, Internet applications can be made richer and more user-friendly.
There is no such thing as an AJAX server. AJAX runs in your browser. AJAX uses HTTP requests to request small pieces of information from the server, instead of whole pages.
